LAS VEGAS, Nev.–The Tennessee Republican Party released the following statement from Chairman Ryan Haynes prior to the December 15th, 2015 Republican Presidential Debate hosted by CNN:
“It has been one month since our Republican presidential candidates last debated and Americans are eager to hear their solutions for the problems we are facing. Terrorism is again at the forefront of the public’s concerns and Americans want action, not the dithering they’ve come to expect from this White House. While President Obama held a photo-op at the Pentagon to rescue his falling poll numbers and those of Hillary Clinton, Republicans will propose new strategies to actually defeat ISIS and keep America safe from radical Islamic terrorists. More voters have watched the GOP debates because we have the enthusiasm–and the answers. Tonight will be no different.”
According to the latest results from the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, “the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif., have vaulted terrorism and national security to become the American public’s top concern, and they’ve helped drive President Barack Obama’s job rating to 43 percent — its lowest level in more than a year.”
Moreover, President Obama, this week, held a news conference at the Pentagon to make the case the U.S. is not losing the war against ISIS. The announcement was met with skepticism for its lack of detail.
