TNGOP Statement on Election of New Chairman and Officers

The State Executive Committee of the Tennessee Republican Party met last Saturday December 3rd and selected State Committeeman Scott Golden of Jackson, Tennessee as the new Tennessee Republican Party Chairman.

Shortly after the 2016 General election, Chairman Ryan Haynes announced that he would not be seeking reelection.

The voting in the Chairman’s race concluded after the second round of balloting. Other candidates included former TNGOP Executive Director Brent Leatherwood and former Deputy Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Bill Giannini.

Other elected TNGOP officers include Jennifer Little as Vice Chairman, Frank Colvett, Jr. as Treasurer, Beth Scott Clayton Amos as Vice Treasurer and Patricia Allen as Secretary.

“I congratulate my friends Scott, Jennifer, Frank, Beth and Pat,” said Haynes. “I am excited and confident that they will do a great job leading the Party into the future.”

“I believe that the Chair must be a leader that will unify our Party with integrity,” Chairman Golden remarked. “My goal and promise is to move the Tennessee Republican Party forward. We must continue to build on the successes of the past by retaining our super majorities, the governor and senate seats while expanding the Red to the Roots program. I look forward to the work that lies ahead to ensure Tennessee remains bright red.”
