NASHVILLE, Tenn.-February 25, 2016–Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton today announced a last second stop in Nashville to keep Tennessee Democrats from voting for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-described Socialist.
Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Ryan Haynes released the following statement regarding the visit and the fact the leaders of the Tennessee Democrat Party have failed to disavow the socialist policies being espoused in the Democrat primary.
“The Democrat Party is being taken over by a Socialist. That’s why the Clinton campaign has hurriedly ushered in assets at the last minute to keep Tennessee from going to Bernie Sanders. But what’s more troubling is the deafening silence of the leaders of the Tennessee Democrats. You have to assume that since no one has spoken up for Hillary Clinton or her failed policies, they must be endorsing Bernie Sanders. Otherwise, why wouldn’t Karl Dean or Mary Mancini be endorsing the Clinton campaign?” asked Chairman Haynes
He continued, “Moreover, today’s mud-slinging directed at Governor Haslam shows the full Democrat propaganda machine for what it is: pathetic. While more Tennesseans have a job than ever before and educational opportunity is a reality, the Democrats can only take potshots at the incredible run of success we’ve seen under Gov. Haslam. Reduced to an insignificant superminority in our state, the Tennessee Democrat Party is put in the unenviable position of effectively rooting for Tennessee to fail. It won’t happen as long as Republicans are in charge.”
